If you are in the San Diego Music scene, do NOT support
Ken Leighton, Royal Dive (Oceanside), or Joe Troutman,
Joe Troutman Presents (Ramona Mainstage).
We urge everyone to do their own reasearch into why these two
individuals are a virus in the SD music scene. Just ask a band!
Our opinion here at SSMC is that these two individuals are not treating
bands well.
There was a recent confession of Susie Vasquez, San Marcos City Clerk,
that Joe Troutman was assisting the city of San Marcos in shutting down
The Jumping Turtle. Not to mention there are countless complaints of Joe and
Ken's treatment of bands. These two are a true examples of people who failed
and now they want to destroy the scene for everyone else.
We encourage those of you with testimonials to this effect to send them to us
and we will publish them.

| Ken Leighton truly has walked off the deep end!! |
On January 11, 2009 Ken Leighton, SD Reader, Royal Dive, contacted the representation for The Jumping Turtle. His question, as he seemed very confused; "Why did you wait until the last day to file the appeal?" This guy has been a ghost since his first two slanderous articles in the Reader back in spring of 2009. I guess he thinks the city is going to pervail with the permit revocation. This guy has also been tied to promoters aggressively trying to pull shows out of the Jumping Turtle and into the Royal Dive. Seriously the Royal Dive? Please! Even when the Turtle has both of its legs cut off in this dispute with the city, Ken is still trying to steal from the Turtle. Ken here is the fact. You are a hack of whatever it is that you claim to do. With or without the Jumping Turtle you are a failure and a slimeball. Stay tuned folks because we plan to get our hands on some documentation to back up the creepy allegations that came about surrounding Ken's termination from another local venue. |
